C.a.T.S. is a systems integrator offering solutions to corporate clients in general, and the telco
and financial sector in particular. The Head Office is currently situated in Pretoria. C.a.T.S.
services customers in South Africa, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho,
Nigeria and the Middle East.
C.a.T.S specialises in Interactive Voice Response (IVR) solutions, and has extensive installation,
application development, and support experience on various platforms, such as IBM, HP, C3 and
Tecnomen.
C.a.T.S. has realised, over time, that most customers have a real requirement for
monitoring and securing their network infrastructure in an integrated way, hence the focus on IBM
Tivoli for network monitoring, network security, as well as storage solutions. C.a.T.S. uses
amongst others IBM Tivoli Access Manager Single Sign-On (TAMSSO) and Tivoli Identity
Manager to provide these solutions.
Johan Grobler, a professional electronics engineer, founded C.a.T.S. in 1996 after being at IBM
Cape Town in the Network Solutions team working on Voice Applications.
C.a.T.S. is the official distributor for C3 Ltd in South Africa. C3 provides IVR, SMS and content
delivery solutions.
C.a.T.S is an HP Open Call partner, working on the Media Platform. Johan Grobler of C.a.T.S
(Managing Director) recently visited Grenoble in France for a world-renowned HP Partner event.
C.a.T.S. subsidiary in Tanzania (ICMA Ltd) has recently been awarded a contract to distribute
the HP Open Call Automatic Device Detection to a major telco operator in East Africa.
C.a.T.S. personnel have attended IBM courses on WebSphere, DirectTalk for AIX, and DirectTalk
for Windows in South Africa and in the UK.
C.a.T.S. has completed several IVR projects in the past 12 months. Amongst these, were the design and
implementation of a subscriber call time IVR application for a major cell phone service provider in
South Africa. The platform used in this project was IBM DirectTalk for AIX.
At Vodacom Congo C.a.T.S. was responsible for the installation and development of an IVR
system to front-end the call centre. The system (WebSphere Voice Response for AIX) also
involved integration to the helpdesk system, voicemail and billing via custom servers. The system
comprises a SS7 server, voice processing unit and a Text-to Speech server with French and
UK English. The system receives 100 000 calls per day.
